*Oyekunle Hails Makinde’s Security Architecture After Rescue of Oriire Abductees*
The Member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, and security agencies for the successful rescue of the victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
In a press statement made available to journalists on Friday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Akinwale Bodija, the federal lawmaker described the safe release of the abductees as a testament to the effectiveness of the collaborative security architecture established by the Makinde administration.
Hon. Oyekunle praised Governor Makinde for his relentless commitment to strengthening security across Oyo State through sustained support for security agencies, noting that the successful operation further reinforces public confidence in the government’s resolve to protect lives and property.
The lawmaker equally commended the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Amotekun Corps, and other security agencies whose professionalism, courage, and coordinated efforts led to the successful rescue of the victims after more than 50 days in captivity.
He expressed gratitude that the victims were reunited safely with their families and extended heartfelt sympathy to them for the emotional and psychological trauma they endured during their period in captivity.
While congratulating the rescued victims and their families, Hon. Oyekunle urged security agencies to sustain the momentum in the ongoing fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes, stressing the need to ensure that those responsible for the abduction are apprehended and brought to justice.
The federal lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to supporting legislative initiatives and policies aimed at enhancing the nation’s security framework, while calling on residents of Oyo State to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely and credible information capable of preventing criminal activities.
He stressed that maintaining peace and security remains a shared responsibility and called for continued collaboration between government, security agencies, and citizens to keep Oyo State safe for all.
