Ona-Ara LG Chairman Donates Land to CAN, FOMWAN

The Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious, has officially presented land allocation documents to the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ona-Ara Chapter, and the Federation of Muslim Women Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN, Ona-Ara Chapter.

The documents, issued in the name of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, were presented at a ceremony that underscored the administration’s commitment to religious harmony, inclusiveness, and community development.

The event attracted religious leaders, government officials, political associates, community stakeholders, and supporters, all of whom commended the Chairman for promoting peaceful coexistence in Ona-Ara.

The FOMWAN delegation was led by the Amirah of FOMWAN, Ona-Ara Chapter, Alhaja Ahmed Bolomode Khadijat “Repete,” who expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for the donation.

Speaking on behalf of FOMWAN, she described the occasion as a testament to the cordial relationship between FOMWAN and CAN, noting that both organizations have continued to work together to promote peace, unity, religious tolerance, and community development.

She said the Chairman has, since assuming office, demonstrated commitment, fairness, and a genuine passion for serving the people. She prayed that God would continue to strengthen him and grant him greater wisdom.

Alhaja Ahmed also prayed for Governor Seyi Makinde, asking God to continue to guide him and increase him in wisdom and strength in his service to Oyo State and Nigeria.

Responding on behalf of CAN, Ona-Ara Chapter, Pastor Gbenga O. Olatunji, JP, thanked the Chairman for his responsiveness to the welfare of the people.

He disclosed that it had been exactly one month since CAN submitted its request for land allocation. According to him, similar requests had been made over the years without receiving a response.

“However, under the leadership of Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious, the request received prompt approval, demonstrating that the present administration is responsive to the needs of the people,” he said.

He prayed for God’s guidance for the Chairman and for lasting peace and harmony between the Muslim community, represented by FOMWAN, and the Christian community, represented by CAN.

Chairman: “We Will Continue to Work for Progress”
In his remarks, Dr. Kolapo expressed appreciation to CAN, FOMWAN, and all supporters of his administration.

“I sincerely appreciate our respected senior pastors, evangelists, prophets, church leaders, political associates, and friends for your unwavering support and goodwill,” he said.

“My heartfelt gratitude also goes to CAN, Ona-Ara Chapter, and FOMWAN, Ona-Ara Chapter, for your visits, prayers, and solidarity. Your show of love and unity is deeply appreciated.”

“Together, we will continue to work for the progress, peace, and prosperity of our communities and our nation,” he added.

The Chairman also appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the development of Oyo State.

The event concluded with a closing prayer by the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Arina Ola, who prayed for God’s guidance, lasting peace among religious organizations, and sustained progress for Ona-Ara, Oyo State, and Nigeria.
