The Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, on Friday, formally recognized the team that successfully led the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration and mobilization campaign among student communities in Ogbomoso.

While presenting the Letters of Commendation, the Chairman commended the volunteers for their dedication, sacrifice, and patriotism in encouraging eligible students to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards.

He noted that the success of the initiative was made possible by the unwavering commitment of the team members, who devoted their time and energy to ensuring that students were properly informed, mobilized, and supported throughout the registration exercise.

Describing their service as an exemplary demonstration of youth leadership and civic responsibility, the Chairman emphasized that the strength of democracy depends largely on the active participation of young people in the electoral process.

“The PVC remains the most powerful tool for every citizen to determine the future of our democracy. Your commitment to this cause has not only empowered thousands of students but has also strengthened democratic participation in our local government. Ogbomoso North is proud of your service,” the Chairman said.

He also urged the recipients to continue serving as ambassadors of positive change, assuring them that the Local Government would always appreciate and support individuals and groups that make meaningful contributions to community development.

The Letters of Commendation were presented as a gesture of appreciation for their exceptional service, dedication, and steadfast commitment to promoting voter education and civic responsibility among students.

The event concluded with calls for more young people to emulate the spirit of selfless service demonstrated by the honoured team, as Ogbomoso North Local Government reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youths and promoting democratic values.
