#GbajaGate: Who Smuggled ₦1.3bn Into PFIPC Budget? – Paul Ibe to Onanuga

Paul Ibe, media aide to African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has asked the Presidency to clarify three issues raised by allegations against Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.

Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who describes himself as director-general of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC, has accused Gbajabiamila of demanding ₦27.4 billion from a purported agency’s take-off grant and collecting ₦400 million, through proxies, to secure his appointment.

The Presidency denied the claim Wednesday in a statement by Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga, saying it does not recognize Adeyemi or the council.

In a post on X, Ibe said the statement left key questions unanswered. He asked:

1. *“Who smuggled N1.3 billion for Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi’s Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) in the 2026 Budget?”*

2. *“Did Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila receive N400 million alleged bribe from Adeyemi?”*

3. *“Don’t you think that your Presidency gives itself away as one big scam if an individual can easily secure office space from the Federal Secretariat for the purposes of the ‘scam’ PFIPC operations?”*

Police have charged Adeyemi with conspiracy, forgery and impersonation over alleged fake presidential appointment documents. He denies wrongdoing. Gbajabiamila has not publicly addressed the ₦400 million allegation.
