Makinde’s Aide Debo Akande Donates Wheelchair to Physically Challenged Woman
Mrs. Hadijat Akinlosotu, a physically challenged woman, has received a wheelchair from Dr. Debo Akande, Executive Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Agribusiness and International Cooperation and Development, fulfilling a pledge he made in April.
According to a statement made available to MOUTHPIECE NGR by Ijoba Authority MOE, Akande made the promise during the groundbreaking and launch of the Historical Library Building and Hall of Fame project of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes on April 7, 2026, at Ibadan House.
He facilitated the event.
The presentation took place at the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency office in Total Garden, Ibadan. OYSADA Permanent Secretary Kola Badmus represented Akande and handed over the wheelchair.
Akinlosotu said she initially doubted the pledge would be fulfilled.
“At first, I thought Dr. Debo was joking, just like many politicians who make promises when elections are approaching. But to my surprise, I was contacted and invited to receive the wheelchair,” she said. “It made me realize that there are still people who keep their promises, even without securing the governorship ticket.”
She said the wheelchair would ease her movement and reduce pain.
“Now, I can move more comfortably and independently. This gift has put a smile on my face. I sincerely pray for God’s blessings upon Dr. Debo Akande and his family,” she said.
Akinlosotu also thanked Hon. Wasiu Nurudeen Adanla, also known as Oba-Aro, Coordinator of Persons With Disabilities in Ibadan North, for his support during the process.
Adanla commended Akande for the gesture and prayed for his success.
Badmus urged Akinlosotu to make good use of the wheelchair and wished her well.
