JUST IN: Police Rescue Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons After Gun Battle; 2 Kidnappers Killed
Police operatives have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, after a gun battle with suspected kidnappers on Saturday evening.
The rescue operation took place around 7:30 p.m. on June 6, 2026. Two members of the kidnapping gang were killed in the exchange of fire, and security personnel recovered two firearms from the scene.
Mrs. John-Paul, the younger sister of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu, and her children were abducted on the morning of June 3, 2026, while she was driving the boys to school.
Security sources said sustained intelligence gathering, surveillance, and pressure from law enforcement forced the kidnappers into a confrontation, leading to the victims’ rescue.
Search operations have been intensified across surrounding communities to apprehend other members of the syndicate. Some of the fleeing suspects are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
