APM Deputy Gov Candidate, Open Salawu Donates N3.5m for Hijrah 1448

As part of his support for the development of Islam in the state, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Deputy Governorship candidate in Oyo State, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, has donated N3.5 million to the Muslim community in commemoration of Hijrah 1448 AH.

He announced the donation on Sunday during the grand finale of the Hijrah awareness rally held at Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Of the total, N2.5 million was donated to the National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations, NACOMYO, while N1 million was earmarked for the welfare of ulamas present at the event.

MOUTHPIECE NGR understands that the gesture was not his first donation to the Muslim community.

The recipient expressed gratitude for the donation and prayed that Allah would reward him abundantly and grant his heart’s desires.

Open Salawu, who is the Giwa Adinni of Oyo State and Babalaje of Ogbomoso land, was also recognized to present an award to one of the honorees.

Many at the event, however, described him as generous, humble and a proud supporter of Islam in the state with a record of financial contributions to its development.

He displayed humility by identifying with other awardees, including SSG Prof. Musibaudeen Babatunde and Mogaji Adanla during the presentation of their awards.
