Worker Receives N25m Compensation After Losing Arm In Lagos Factory Accident
A worker identified as Joshua Shapara has received N25 million compensation after losing his arm in an industrial accident at a factory in Lagos State.
According to reports, the incident occurred in 2024 at Anjia Prefabrication Limited while the victim was working in the moulding section of the facility.
The accident reportedly resulted in severe injuries, leading to the amputation of his right arm.
The matter was later referred to the Lagos State Safety Commission for investigation and regulatory action.
In a statement, the commission said the company paid N25 million compensation to the victim, while also stressing that the incident could have been prevented through proper workplace safety measures.
Officials further highlighted the importance of machine guarding, safety audits, and strict compliance with operational procedures to prevent industrial accidents.
The commission reiterated its commitment to enforcing workplace safety standards across industries in Lagos State.
