Oke Legacy Officially Dumps PDP for APM Ahead of 2027 Elections

The political landscape in Oyo State shifted further on Saturday as grassroots politician and philanthropist Hon. John Adisa Oke, popularly known as _Oke Legacy_, officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

Oke, who was the consensus House of Representatives candidate for Ogbomoso North, South/Oriire Federal Constituency under the PDP before his exit, announced the move during a strategic meeting with party leaders, supporters, youth groups, women associations, and political allies.

He said the decision followed extensive consultations with associates and stakeholders who believe a new political direction is needed to advance the interests of the people.

“The Allied People’s Movement offers a better platform for inclusiveness, fairness, youth participation, and genuine service to the people,” Oke stated. “My move is not driven by personal interest, but by a commitment to quality representation and the welfare of our people.”

The former PDP candidate said he had listened to youths, women, market traders, artisans, and elders who urged him to remain steadfast in the struggle for better representation and development.

“I was the consensus candidate within the PDP, and I remain grateful to everyone who believed in me. But the interest of the people is paramount. We have resolved to continue this journey on a platform that reflects our collective aspirations,” he said.

Oke added that the move to APM was about giving hope to the people, creating opportunities for the younger generation, and ensuring purposeful representation for the constituency at the National Assembly.

The declaration was met with jubilation from supporters who described him as a tested leader with a record of humanitarian service and grassroots development.

Oke Legacy enjoys wide support across Ogbomoso North, South/Oriire Federal Constituency, and other parts of Oyo State for his community-focused initiatives. He is particularly known for his contributions to educational development through scholarships, empowerment programs, and other community services.
