Ogunlade to Muslims: Let Eid Teach Us Service and Togetherness
The Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, has sent his goodwill message to the Muslim community in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area and across Oyo State ahead of Eid-ul-Adha 2026.
In the message released from the council secretariat this evening, Hon. George described the festival as a reminder of faith, obedience, and sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
“Eid-ul-Adha teaches us that true greatness lies in surrendering to the will of Allah and in placing the good of others above personal comfort,” he said. “As we prepare to celebrate tomorrow, let us reflect on these values and apply them to our daily lives and to the work of building our communities.”
The chairman urged residents to use the occasion to strengthen bonds of unity, extend kindness to neighbors, and support those in need. He noted that the spirit of the season aligns with the council’s ongoing efforts to promote peace, youth empowerment, and inclusive development across Ogbomoso North.
“As a council, we remain committed to creating an environment where every resident, regardless of faith or background, feels safe and has a fair chance to thrive,” Hon. Goerge stated. “Our doors remain open, and our focus remains on projects and programs that touch lives directly.”
He also called on the youth to emulate the virtues of patience, discipline, and service demonstrated during the Eid period, and to continue partnering with the government in keeping Ogbomoso North peaceful and progressive.
While distributing rams to party leaders, community leaders, and loyalists, Hon. Ogunlade spoke briefly with his media aide and used the moment to extend his wishes to Muslims across the council.
“May Almighty Allah accept your Qurbani, grant you and your families peace, good health, and prosperity, and may He bless Ogbomoso North and Oyo State with continued harmony. Eid Mubarak in advance.
