Ileya Festival 2026: Oyo Central PDP Chairman Hon. Adewusi Adegbola Greets Muslims in Oyo Central, Oyo State, and Across Nigeria
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Oyo Central Senatorial District, Hon. Adewusi Adegbola, has extended Eid al-Adha greetings to Muslims in Oyo Central, across Oyo State, and throughout Nigeria.
In his message, Hon. Adegbola described the Ileya Festival as a global reminder of faith, sacrifice, and compassion, values exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Ismail (AS). He noted that the festival’s message transcends borders and speaks to the universal need for unity, justice, and human solidarity.
Citing the Qur’an, he stated:
“Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you.”
He explained that the verse underscores sincerity and moral purpose as the true essence of worship and public service.
Hon. Adewusi urged Muslims to mark the occasion with prayer, reflection, and outreach to the vulnerable, adding that such acts strengthen social cohesion and resilience in diverse communities. He reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership and to supporting policies that promote peace, economic opportunity, and good governance at the local, state, and national levels.
“May this Ileya bring renewed hope, mutual respect among all Nigerians, and blessings to our nation and the wider global community,” he said.
