Group Condemns ‘Agents of Deceit’ Behind Fake PDP Primary Results Circulating Online Without NWC Approval, Warns Against Party Destruction
IBADAN — A group has disowned a fake list of successful candidates from the recent federal House of Representatives primary held on May 17, 2026, circulating online without the approval of the Peoples Democratic Party National Working Committee. The group stated that the publication did not come from the Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The group said it knows those behind the fake release and condemned the release as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and cause confusion within the party. It described those responsible as “agents of Satan” who dodge in corners to cook up stories to disrupt the process.
“The real Oyo State PDP did not release any such list. This is the handiwork of outsiders who bypassed due process and want to impose themselves on Oyo politics,” the group said. It argued that the names listed are unknown to party members in the affected areas and lack a base at the local government level.
The group appealed to residents to disregard the statement, saying it did not emanate from the PDP’s recognized processes. “You cannot come from outside and disrupt everything or dictate for us in Oyo State. Who does that?” it said.
It added in Yoruba: _“Aaye tigba tapa olonfeko’le igunnu”— an outsider should not dictate affairs in Oyo State.
The group stressed that Oyo people will not tolerate nonsense and called on the PDP National Working Committee to investigate and clarify the authentic outcome of the primary. It urged the state party leadership to uphold the party’s constitution, ensure neutrality in internal contests, and advised those behind the fake publication to desist immediately.
