Group Alleges Ayo Fayose Plans to Influence Oyo PDP Primary, Warns of Disrespect to His Age and Status
The Ibadan Solidarity Group on Monday called on the PDP National Working Committee to investigate former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose’s alleged role in attempts to influence the outcome of the party’s primary held Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Oyo State.
The group accused Fayose of seeking to interfere in a process outside his state, saying Oyo residents know their own and stand with them when it matters.
It added that external actors with no political relevance in their home state should not attempt to dictate outcomes in Oyo.
“Oyo State is not Ekiti and will not accept external imposition,” the group said, urging the party to guard against interference from individuals who lack standing in their own constituencies.
Chairman Comrade Sulaimon Abimbola however urged the PDP National Working Committee to review the May 17 result and caution against outside interference, warning that continued meddling could undermine the party’s credibility ahead of 2027.
