Eid-el-Kabir: SMATO Felicitates Muslims, Urges Prayers for Abducted Ogbomoso Victims
Hon. SMATO, member representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, has felicitated Muslims in Oyo State and across Nigeria on this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the federal lawmaker called on Muslim faithful to embrace the lessons of sacrifice, compassion, obedience, and peaceful coexistence exemplified by the festival.
He used the occasion to solicit prayers for victims of the recent abduction in Ogbomoso who are still being held captive.
“As we mark this sacred festival, I urge Muslims to keep praying for peace, unity, and security in our state and country,” SMATO said. “My thoughts remain with the families affected by the unfortunate incident in Ogbomoso. May Almighty Allah grant safe release to those in captivity and comfort their loved ones.”
The lawmaker charged Nigerians to promote love, tolerance, and mutual understanding during the festive period, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
He also appealed to security agencies to step up efforts to rescue the abducted victims and rebuild public confidence in the affected communities.
SMATO however wished all Muslims a peaceful and rewarding Eid-el-Kabir, praying the season ushers in renewed hope and blessings for every home.
