Disability Offices Declare Full Support for Gov Makinde’s 2027 Presidential Ambition

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities and The Office of the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters as well as People living with Disabilities (PWD) have declared their total support for the presidential ambition of Seyi Makinde following his declaration earlier today under the APM Party ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a joint statement released in Ibadan, both offices described Governor Makinde as a visionary leader whose style of governance has brought remarkable development, inclusiveness, and people-oriented leadership to Oyo State.

According to the statement, Governor Makinde’s administration has consistently demonstrated genuine concern for the welfare of all citizens, particularly persons living with disabilities, the elderly, women, and other vulnerable groups who have benefitted from several inclusive policies and empowerment programmes under his leadership.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters, Timothy Olufemi, noted that Governor Makinde possesses the leadership qualities, competence, compassion, and experience required to move Nigeria forward.

“Governor Seyi Makinde has shown over the years that leadership is about service, inclusion, development, and accountability. His administration in Oyo State has become a model for others across the country, especially in the area of disability inclusion and social welfare,” the statement read.

The offices further stated that the governor’s declaration has inspired hope among many Nigerians who desire purposeful leadership and national transformation.

They emphasized that Governor Makinde’s track record in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, economic growth, and human capital development positions him as a strong and credible candidate for the presidency in 2027.

“As stakeholders in the disability community and advocates for inclusive governance, we are fully in support of His Excellency’s presidential ambition. We believe his emergence on the national stage will further promote fairness, equity, and opportunities for every Nigerian regardless of status or physical condition,” the statement added.

The offices also called on citizens across the country, political stakeholders, youth groups, civil society organizations, and persons living with disabilities to rally behind Governor Makinde’s vision for a better Nigeria.

They urged Nigerians to support his ambition, stressing that the country needs a leader with proven capacity, integrity, and a people-centered approach to governance.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the commitment of both offices to continue supporting initiatives that promote inclusion, good governance, and sustainable national development.
