Delegation Led by Hon. SMATO Commiserates With Families Over Oriire Abduction Incident

Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola SMATO, alongside the Oyo State APM Gubernatorial Candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi, Senatorial Candidate Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide Odidiomo, and Hon. Shina Peller, paid a solidarity and condolence visit to the families and communities affected by the recent attacks and the unfortunate abduction of teachers and students in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The visit was aimed at identifying with the victims, encouraging the affected communities, and reaffirming collective efforts towards restoring peace and security within the area. During the visit, the delegation held strategic discussions with military personnel and other security operatives stationed across the affected schools and communities. 

The discussions centered on strengthening security surveillance, preventing further attacks, and intensifying ongoing rescue operations to ensure the safe and timely release of the abducted victims.

The security agencies assured the delegation and residents that proactive and intensified tactical measures had already been put in place to track down the perpetrators, rescue the victims unharmed, and restore normalcy across the affected communities. 

They further appealed to residents to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid the ongoing operations.

While commiserating with the traumatised families, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola Smato and members of the delegation expressed deep sympathy over the unfortunate incident and prayed for the quick and safe return of the abducted teachers and students. 

They also reassured the people of the unwavering commitment of the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, towards safeguarding lives and properties, strengthening community security architecture, and ensuring lasting peace and stability across all parts of the state.

The delegation equally urged residents not to lose hope, emphasizing that government authorities and security agencies remain fully committed to bringing the situation under control and ensuring justice against those responsible for attacks.
