Best Legacy College, Ogbomoso Holds 16th Convocation, Matriculates 364 Students

…As John Oke Doles Out Scholarship to 104 Students

Best Legacy College of Education, Ogbomoso on Thursday held its 16th convocation and matriculation ceremony, conferring National Certificate in Education on 206 graduands while admitting 364 new students for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The combined ceremony, held at the college premises, marked a major milestone for the institution founded in 2007. According to the Provost, Dr. Obajemu Victor Michael, the college has produced over 6,000 NCE graduates since inception.

Addressing the graduands, Dr. Obajemu applauded their resilience through “late-night study sessions, early morning lectures, and countless challenges.”

He said: “You’ve balanced academics, tests, and exams, often juggling multiple responsibilities. You’ve faced self-doubt, pushed through exhaustion, and celebrated small victories. And today, here you stand, proud and accomplished.”

He urged the new intakes to set clear goals, develop a growth mindset, stay disciplined and shun cultism.

The graduands were equally charged to remain adaptable, build resilience, and embrace continuous learning as they step into the teaching profession and wider society.

In his remarks, the Proprietor/Director, Hon. Dr. John Abisoye Oke, however commended the management, lecturers, and students for their role in “shaping minds and mentoring hearts.”

He also thanked parents and guardians for their sacrifices toward their children’s education.

To further support access to teacher education, Dr. Oke announced scholarships for 104 students.

He reaffirmed his commitment to educational development in Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and Oriire Federal Constituency, stressing that “education remains the best legacy we can give our children.”

“There is no height our students cannot attain if they are armed with quality education. It is the one essential tool for life,” Oke added.

Adeniyi Abdulazeez of the Department of Art and Social studies, who emerged as the overall best graduating student, received a cash award in recognition of her outstanding academic feat.
