Report Says Gbolarumi Meets 2023 PDP Aspirants, Pushes Unity Agenda for 2027
Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, on Tursday held a closed-door meeting with representatives of aspirants who contested under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, as part of strategic consultations ahead of 2027.
Sources within the party disclosed that the meeting focused on strengthening internal cohesion, consolidating party structures, and positioning the PDP for electoral success in the next general election cycle.
The delegation of 2023 aspirants reportedly commended Gbolarumi for his sustained commitment to the party’s growth and stability in Oyo State, describing him as a stabilising figure within the PDP fold.
In his remarks, the former deputy governor emphasised the need for unity, discipline, and collective responsibility among party stakeholders. He urged aspirants and leaders alike to prioritise reconciliation and grassroots mobilisatibon, noting that a divided house cannot secure victory at the polls.
Gbolarumi further charged party members to intensify engagement with supporters across the state and remain focused on strengthening the PDP’s grassroots appeal ahead of 2027.
Although details of the deliberations were not made public, insiders described the meeting as “frank, strategic, and forward-looking.”
Political observers view the engagement as part of early realignments within the party as it begins internal consultations ahead of the next electoral cycle.
