PDP: “Wike Has No Faction in Saki, Makinde Remains Our Leader” – Barr. Onijo

..Says Saboteurs Have Already Left The Party

Barr. Sarafadeen Lateef, also known as Onijo, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saki West Local Government Area, has affirmed that the party in the council is united, with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde as its leader.

Speaking from his residence over the weekend, Barr. Onijo emphasized that the PDP in Saki is not divided into factions supporting FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, but stands firmly under Governor Makinde’s leadership.

He highlighted the governor’s significant contributions to Saki’s development, noting that no one from Saki would openly oppose Governor Makinde’s leadership.

Barr. Onijo equally acknowledged Governor Makinde’s role in ensuring Saki’s leadership, including facilitating the kingship selection process upon assumption of office.

He praised the governor’s developmental achievements in recent years, highlighting the progress made under the PDP administration and discussing political developments within the party.

He also mentioned Governor Makinde’s responsible management of state resources and commitment to transparency.

Barr. Onijo pointed out that the governor has transformed Saki into a modern city through infrastructure development, improving travel within Saki and along roads like the Ogbooro, Igboho road.

According to him, the Saki-Ogbooro road, which once took over 30 minutes or one hour, can now be traveled in 10 minutes, with ongoing road construction from Igboho to Kishi.

He also cited projects such as the Iseyin to Oyo and Iseyin to Ogbomoso roads, the LAUTECH satellite campus in Iseyin, and improvements in healthcare facilities, among others as unprecedented.

“With all the infrastructure development in Saki West Local Government Area and the entire Oke-ogun zone, it was Governor Makinde who made it possible, not Nyesom Wike. Therefore, we are absolutely loyal to Governor Seyi Makinde in Saki West,” he stated.

He added: “There is no one who will come out here and say they are loyal to Wike. There is a strong party in Saki, loyal to Governor Makinde’s leadership. The days of division are over; everyone is united under Governor Makinde. The saboteurs have already left the party in Saki. So, we are all one now and united.”

Barr. Onijo however urged PDP members and leaders to continue promoting the party, especially with the upcoming elections, encouraging them to mobilize members to collect their voter cards for the 2027 election, and also assured that the PDP would be victorious.
