Egbeda Local Government Unveils Revamped Multipurpose Hall

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has commissioned the newly remodeled and renamed Tamunominini Multipurpose Hall at the SDP premises in Gbagi, Ibadan.

The ceremony was graced by the First Lady of Oyo State, Her Excellency, Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, who officiated the commissioning.

The facility, previously underutilized, has been transformed into a modern venue for social events, official programs, and marriage ceremonies.

During the event, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, also the chairman of the Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State, highlighted that the project reflects his administration’s dedication to the people of Egbeda. He stated that the goal is to develop practical spaces that foster sustainable grassroots development and enhance the quality of life for residents.

In her speech, Her Excellency Mrs. Makinde commended the council’s leadership for prioritizing projects with a direct social impact. She stressed that providing a suitable environment for family services, such as marriage ceremonies, is crucial for establishing stable and healthy communities.

In addition to infrastructure, the event marked a significant healthcare achievement, with 250 residents officially enrolled in the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) scheme. This initiative, supported by the First Lady, ensures that the elderly and underprivileged in Egbeda can access quality medical care, including treatment for conditions like hypertension and diabetes, at reduced costs.

This dual intervention highlights the Egbeda Local Government’s comprehensive approach to governance, focusing on both the physical structures of the community and the health of its residents.
