We Are Proud of You – Oyo PDP Congratulates Oyo Speaker

The People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State has congratulated Rt. Hon. Edward Adebo Ogundoyin, the Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker, on the successful completion of his tenure as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of the State Legislature of Nigeria.

In a statement released on Tuesday by Publicity Secretary, Micheal Ogunsina, the PDP expressed pride in Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin’s accomplishments since the party’s inception.

The PDP highlighted Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin’s achievements, including being the youngest chairman in the Conference’s history, which symbolized a generational shift towards reform-driven leadership.

The statement also mentioned the digital transformation of the state legislature through a partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, modernizing legislative processes. Additionally, the party noted the strengthened legislative autonomy under his leadership.

Under Hon. Ogundoyin’s chairmanship, the Conference strengthened intergovernmental relationships, advocated for financial autonomy for state legislatures, and contributed to Nigeria’s constitutional review. The Conference also advocated for State Police establishment, devolution of power, and expanded international engagement, including discussions with the Chinese Ambassador and U.S. officials.

The party assured Nigerians that despite challenges, the PDP remains committed to serving the people of Oyo State and Nigeria.
