ONE VOICE • ONE COMMUNITY • ONE VICTORY
*ONE VOICE • ONE COMMUNITY • ONE VICTORY*
The inter-community football competition came to an exciting conclusion as the organizer, Mr. Michael Shodeke, officially kick-started the final match by taking the ceremonial first kick.
All the sons and daughters of Oke-Ayo and eminent personalities were present at the venue to grace the inter-community football competition.
The game began with high intensity, and Gada Olugbode FC displayed a fantastic performance in the first half, scoring the lone goal to take the lead before halftime.
The second half resumed in dramatic fashion. Oke-Ayo FC pushed forward relentlessly but were initially wasteful in front of goal. Their persistence finally paid off when Idris Olanrewaju opened the score sheet for Oke-Ayo FC, leveling the match at 1–1.
A controversial goal was later scored by Gada Olugbode FC, but it was rightly disallowed in accordance with the competition rules that had been clearly stated before kickoff.
Both teams fought gallantly until the final whistle, ending regulation time in a 1–1 draw, which led straight to a penalty shootout. Idris Olanrewaju, Adewale Ibrahim, and Ayoola Abiodun calmly converted their penalties, while Gada Olugbode FC managed to score only one. The shootout ended 3–1 in favor of Oke-Ayo FC.
Amid loud cheers and celebrations, jubilation filled the atmosphere as players, supporters, and community members rejoiced in the well-deserved victory.
