Aisha Raji: Inside the Steady Rise of Epe’s Youth Influencer of the Year

For many young people in the Epe Division, the name Aisha Ibironke Raji has become familiar, not because she chases the spotlight, but because her work keeps finding its way to the hearts of those who pay attention. This year, her steady rise was formally recognised when she was named the Youth Influencer of the Year (Female) at the 2025 Epe Division Community Annual Awards, organised by the Concerned Nation Builders Initiative.

But for those who know her story, the award did not come as a surprise.

Aisha is one of those young Nigerians you can describe as a coat of many colours. She works across the media industry and the events and creative sector. She is a broadcast journalist, an eventpreneur, and the Creative Director of Luscious Cakes by Bee, a business she built from scratch and has grown through consistency, creativity, and discipline.

Born in Epe to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Raji Rasak, Aisha’s early journey was simple and grounded. She attended Ebun Ayo Nursery and Primary School and later Epe Girls High School, where she completed her secondary education. After that, she moved to Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye (affiliated to TASCE) earning a degree in Guidance and Counseling.

Her leadership traits showed early. At OOU, she served as Class Representative for four years, a demanding role in an environment where students rarely trust one person for that long. She also made history by emerging as the Amirah (female leader) of the university’s Muslim students for a record two sessions. The role placed her at the centre of guiding and coordinating hundreds of young women, many of whom still speak about her calmness and firmness, till date.

Her journey into media started shortly after. She worked briefly at Eagle 102.5 FM before joining GUTS 104.9 FM in 2024. On radio, Aisha has built a reputation for being composed, relatable, and thoughtful. Her ability to connect with listeners, especially young women, has earned her a quiet but loyal following. They see in her someone who is building her life with honesty, modesty, and intention. Colleagues also describe her as someone who learns fast and is committed to doing better with every opportunity.

Beyond the microphone, Aisha runs Luscious Cakes by Bee, a creative venture she built from the ground up. What began as a simple passion for baking has grown into a trusted events-support brand known for consistency and quality.
Those who have watched the brand evolve say one thing clearly: “Aisha never rushes her process. She believes in steady growth.”

The business has handled social events, large orders, children’s celebrations, and even corporate engagements. Each stage of Aisha’s career is a true reflection of her belief that; creativity, when backed with discipline, becomes sustainable.

For young entrepreneurs in Epe and beyond, Aisha’s journey is a reassurance that there is dignity in starting small. And that, with time, consistency becomes its own marketing strategy.

The Youth Influencer of the Year Award is often misunderstood as a product of social media numbers. But in the case of the 2025 Epe Division Community Awards, the criteria were far broader: leadership, community impact, entrepreneurship, consistency, and verifiable influence.

Aisha checked every box. She challenged the status quo, changed the narratives, and redefined the scope of honour.

She may not be the loudest, but she is effective. In a community where young women often struggle for direction, Aisha has become a clear example of how focus and integrity create pathways.

Her leadership history, media presence, and entrepreneurship combined to make her the most deserving recipients of the award’s female category, having secured an overwhelming majority of votes cast by members of the public.

Away from the demands of radio and business, Aisha is warm and introspective. She enjoys watching movies, exploring new environments, and surfing the internet for ideas and inspiration. People close to her say she has a quiet sense of humour and a remarkable ability to remain calm under pressure.

She is also intentional about self-improvement; learning, unlearning, and refining herself constantly. This personal discipline is what gives her a maturity that is often beyond her age.

Aisha’s rise is not accidental. It is built on choices – small, disciplined, consistent choices that compound over time. Her story reflects what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

As she continues to build her career and expand her creative business, one thing is clear: Aisha is only at the beginning of her journey. The impact she has made so far suggests that the years ahead will reveal even more about her potential.

Aisha Raji represents a refreshing and hopeful example of a young woman proving, every day, that influence is not merely about visibility, but about value.

And if her current trajectory is anything to go by, the Epe Division, Lagos State and indeed Nigeria, has only begun to see what she is capable of.
