Six Students from Ogbomoso North Secure Government Scholarship into Abiola Ajimobi University
In a heartwarming display of support for education and youth empowerment, six brilliant students from Ogbomoso North Local Government have been awarded full scholarships to study at the Technical University, Ibadan— recently renamed Senator Abiola Ajimobi University.
The scholarship, sponsored by the Oyo State Government in collaboration with the Ogbomoso North Local Government, was designed to support exceptional students who demonstrate both academic promise and a passion for technological innovation.
Speaking on the initiative on Wednesday, the Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, commended the beneficiaries for their hard work and urged them to remain focused and diligent in their academic pursuits.
He described the scholarship as part of the government’s commitment to investing in the future of Oyo State by empowering young minds with quality education and technical skills.
He said: “Education remains a powerful tool for transformation. We are proud of these young ambassadors from Ogbomoso North, and we believe they will make our community and state proud at Abiola Ajimobi University.”
The six beneficiaries and their fields of study are:
1. Oketunbi Emanuel Obafemi** – Software Engineering
2. Tanimowo Ayomide Samuel– Electrical/Electronic Engineering
3. Oyakanmi Oyewumi Eniola– Chemical Engineering
4. Teliat Hikmat Olufunmilola– Physics with Electronics
5. Adetoye Roseline Mayowa– Estate Management
6. Adeyanju Joshua Adetayo– Architecture
In a separate remarks, each student expressed deep gratitude to the Oyo State Government and Ogbomoso North leadership for the life-changing opportunity.
They pledged to make the most of it by striving for academic excellence and contributing meaningfully to society after graduation.
