Smato Congratulates Oba Ladoja on Historic Coronation as 44th Olubadan
Hon. Makanjuola Smato, representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, has extended warm congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Arusa 1, on his coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a statement on Friday, the lawmaker described the occasion as historic and spiritually significant, praising Oba Ladoja’s ascension as a moment of pride for Ibadan indigenes and Yoruba sons and daughters worldwide.
He attributed the former governor’s elevation to divine favor and a lifetime of selfless service, noting that Oba Ladoja’s ascension marks a historic milestone as the first former governor and senator to ascend the Olubadan throne in Oyo State’s history.”*
He said: “Oba Ladoja’s coronation is more than a traditional rite; it is the crowning of wisdom, resilience, and unshakable commitment to the progress of Ibadanland. He embodies integrity, vision, and the courage to lead with compassion.
The lawmaker commended Oba Ladoja’s dedication to public service and good governance, describing him as a leader whose reign will bridge generations and foster inclusive development.
He expressed optimism that the royal father’s leadership will inspire the youth to embrace their culture, pursue education, and contribute to society.
Hon. Smato however called on everyone to rally behind the Olubadan in preserving the city’s heritage and promoting unity and development across the land.
