Ogbomoso South Councillors Launch Distribution of 10,000 Exercise Books to Schools

Councillors in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area have commenced the free distribution of 10,000 customized exercise books to public primary schools across the council’s 10 wards.

The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on parents and enhance the academic performance of pupils as they resume for academic session.

During the distribution exercise on Thursday, House Leader, Hon. Tunji Alao, emphasized the significance of the initiative, noting that education remains a top priority for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

He explained that the exercise books are essential learning tools that can improve academic performance and reduce the financial burden on parents.

He said: “Each of these exercise books bears the emblem of the Ogbomoso South Local Government Legislative Council, serving as a reminder of our deep commitment to education and future. Our administration is dedicated to investing in education and creating opportunities for young learners to thrive.

“As of today, we have distributed the free exercise books to several schools, including Methodist Primary School 1&2, Handicap School, Onpetu Primary School, Molete Primary School, Ayegun School 1, 2, and 3, among others.

“The distribution will continue tomorrow, as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the foundation of public education in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area.”

The Council Chairman, Hon. Timothy Oyedokun Oyeniyi, however commended the councillors for the laudable initiatives, noting that the exercise reflects the collective commitment to uplifting education in Ogbomoso South.

He said: “Today, our councillors in Ogbomoso South Local Government commenced the distribution of 10,000 exercise books to schools across the council area. This initiative reflects the collective commitment of every political office holder under my administration to contribute their quota to the upliftment of education.

“I was delighted to join them in this exercise, as we continue to place education at the heart of our development agenda. By supporting our pupils with learning materials, we are investing in their future and building the foundation for a more prosperous Ogbomoso South.

“Education remains our priority, and together we will keep ensuring that no child is left behind.”

Teachers, parents, and pupils have also expressed their appreciation to the council authorities. They noted that the gesture was timely and impactful, adding that the books would ease the burden of providing stationery for their wards.
