Makinde administration shows commitment to transport workers as RAD distributes free fuel to Okada riders

At a time when rising fuel prices have continued to burden daily commuters and transport workers, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo (RAD), has rolled out a free fuel distribution initiative to commercial motorcycle operators (Okada riders) in Ibadan.

The gesture, which took place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at a designated filling station, brought joy and relief to hundreds of riders.

During the exercise, Hon. RAD emphasized that the initiative aims to ease the economic pressure faced by Okada riders, who play a critical role in grassroots mobility and urban transportation.

She stated, “Governor Seyi Makinde is committed to policies and initiatives that directly impact the people positively. Today’s fuel support is part of that vision.”

The Okada riders commended Hon. RAD for the initiative, describing her as a grassroots-friendly leader who understands their daily struggles. They expressed renewed hope in the administration’s commitment to human-centered governance.

This initiative is a testament to the Makinde-led administration’s focus on the welfare of citizens, particularly those in the informal transport sector.
