PHOTOS: Oyo Deputy Gov attends Olopoenia Oke-ogun father’s burial in Okeho
Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, on Sunday, attended the 8 days fidau prayer of Alhaji Tiamiyu Akinsanya Olohunlowo Salau, who died at the age of 93.
Held at the 2nd Baptist Primary School, Ogamde Okeho, the event was also attended by top Oyo government functionaries, including PDP leaders, as well as the Oyo state secretary to the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke; Commissioner for Youth and sport, Wasilat Adegoke; Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Hon. Niyi Adebisi; member of House of Representatives, representing Iseyin Itesiwaju, Kajola Federal Constituency, Alhaji Oshine Oyedeji, and the personal assistant to Oyo State Governor, Akeem Azeez.

Others were House of Assembly members, Hon. Wale Canada, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Chairman Oyo State of Pensioners, Alhaji Rauf Adekunle; Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha; former Ruwasa Chairman, Alhaji Najimdeen Omirinde; CEO Tanwa Motors; Hon. Siju Lawal, Mama Arewa, local government chairmen, other political functionaries and members of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The event drew notable Islamic clerics from the Oke-ogun zone, including: Sheikh Badrudeen Oloko from Saki; Sheikh Abdul-Majeed Alawaye from Oyo town and The Asooju Adinni of Okeho.
These respected clerics delivered impactful exhortations, reflecting on the deceased’s life and legacy, and offering insightful perspectives on death and the impact of late TA Salau’s contributions.


In his brief remarks, the Asoju Adinni of Okeho described the deceased as a knowledgeable Islamic scholar, good teacher, and prayer warrior who dedicated his life to developing Islam in Oyo State.
He praised the late Salau’s simplicity and urged others to emulate his good deeds.
Sheikh Abdul-Majeed Alawaye, in his excellent exhortation, which was very concise and impactful, commended the deceased’s good character.
He noted that the Deputy Governor of Oyo State has also been kind to those around him, impacting his environment positively.

He admonished Muslims to be good to others and their environment, emphasizing accountability for one’s deeds.
The Deputy Governor, speaking on behalf of Governor Makinde, however, prayed for the deceased’s repose and commended the guest lecturer’s impactful exhortation.

He noted that the late Salau left a lasting legacy of good deeds and prayed for his soul to rest in Aljanat Firdaos.
The Deputy Governor also condoled with the people of Oke-ogun, praying for their strength to bear the loss.

However, speaking to MOUTHPIECE NGR, the chairman of AANFE, who expressed his specifically expressed his profound gratitude for the presence of Oyo Deputy Governor, said the event was also in remembrance of their grand father, Alhaji Ayo Oke-Ogun Olopoenia, who died in 2009 and was instrumental to the birth of PDP in the Oke-ogun zone.
He equally extended his deepest appreciation to others who also graced the occasion, praying Allah grant the departed souls an eternal rest.

The event was also marked by a significant donation of N2.5 million towards the construction of Okeho Central Mosque, made on behalf of the late Tiamiu Olowoseke by the Oyo State government.
