Promotion Letters: “Wolekanle-led Oyo LGSC is on track, underscoring Makinde’s commitment to the growth of civil Servants”, says Oke LEGACY
The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission (OYLGSC) has officially commenced the distribution of promotion letters for the 2023/2024 promotion exercise, signaling a significant step forward in civil service administration under Governor Seyi Makinde.
Hon. John Adisa-Oke LEGACY, a member of the Commission, described the exercise as a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to the professional growth and welfare of local government staff across the state.
“The Wolekanle-led Commission is on course. The prompt release of these promotion letters reflects the strong political will of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to prioritize the development of the civil service,” Oke LEGACY said.
The exercise, which began two weeks ago, covers staff across the 33 Local Government Areas and 35 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), with over 10,000 eligible workers benefiting from consistent promotion efforts over the last six years.
This development also marks a shift from past practices, where delays often led to the involvement of retired officers in promotion processes. The current approach, according to stakeholders, is more transparent, efficient, and people-centered.
Oke LEGACY noted that the initiative would greatly boost staff morale, improve service delivery, and further align the workforce with the strategic goals of the Makinde-led administration.
He urged all beneficiaries of the promotion to see it as a call to renewed dedication and commitment to excellence, stating, “This is not just a reward for past efforts—it is a motivation for even greater contributions to the development of Oyo State.”
