Oyo LG Chairmen Forum Celebrates Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, at 90

The Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State has joined numerous well-wishers to celebrate the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on his 90th birthday.

In a statement jointly signed by the Forum Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, and the Forum’s Spokesperson, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, the chairmen described the revered monarch as “an epitome of tradition, wisdom, and leadership whose reign continues to inspire unity and cultural pride among the people of Ibadanland and beyond.”

Oba Olakulehin, born on July 5, 1935, has been widely celebrated for his deep-rooted commitment to preserving the rich heritage of Ibadan and for his contributions to peace and development in Oyo State.

The forum, while felicitating with the monarch, offered prayers for his continued reign in good health, wisdom, and strength. “We pray that Kabiyesi continues to enjoy a long and fulfilling life on the throne, guiding the people of Ibadanland with grace and dignity,” the statement read.

Oyo Local Government Chairmen’s Forum also recognizes and appreciates Governor Seyi Makinde’s ongoing support for traditional institutions. They affirmed Makinde’s consistent efforts in preserving and promoting cultural heritage, which demonstrate a deep respect for tradition and its vital role in the identity and unity of the people.

The celebration of Oba Olakulehin’s 90th birthday has drawn tributes from traditional rulers, political leaders, and cultural institutions across the state, marking a significant milestone in the life of a monarch whose legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of Ibadan’s history.
