Oyo Govt Donates 6 APCs to Police Command
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has donated six Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to the Oyo State Police Command to strengthen the state’s internal security apparatus.
The donation was made on Wednesday at the State Government Secretariat in Ibadan.
Governor Makinde, who was represented by his Deputy, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to securing lives and property.
He described the donation as a crucial intervention amid growing security challenges.
Lawal noted that the APCs were procured at significant cost and emphasized the importance of deploying them strictly for public safety and maintaining order.
He added that the state government is also acquiring two surveillance aircraft to strengthen aerial monitoring across Oyo.
Receiving the APCs on behalf of the command, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, CP Johnson Adenola, expressed appreciation to the governor for the consistent support.
He maintained that Oyo state government under the leadership of governor Makinde remains the most friendly to the Police.
He assured that the vehicles would be deployed effectively to bolster operational capacity and improve rapid response to security threats.
“This donation will significantly enhance our capability to respond to emergencies and safeguard communities across the state,” CP Adenola said.
The donation was witnessed by top government officials and police personnel, further solidifying the state government’s commitment to ensuring peace and safety across Oyo State.
