Oke-Ogun PDP Stakeholders Pass Vote of Confidence on Gov. Makinde
Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oke-Ogun Zone, Oyo State, have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Seyi Makinde, reaffirming their commitment and loyalty to him.
The stakeholders, comprising representatives from the 10 local government areas, federal constituency coordinators, and leaders, applauded the Governor’s role in the socio-economic upliftment of the zone through infrastructure, agriculture, employment, and other initiatives.
Rising form its zonal stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday at Igboho City Townhall, Owode, Igboho, the stakeholders resolved to expand party membership, hold regular meetings, and establish a conflict resolution mechanism to deal with issues arising in various local government areas and federal constituencies.

They also commended the Governor’s developmental strides in the zone, including the rehabilitation of key roads, establishment of LAUTECH campus in Iseyin, and recruitment of qualified sons and daughters of Oke-Ogun into civil/public service.
According to the stakeholders’ communique, several projects were initiated by the Governor, including road construction and rehabilitation, educational opportunities and economic empowerment in the zone in the last six years.
These included the Rehabilitation of Ibadan – Iseyin Road; Reconstruction of Iseyi – Oyo Road; Construction of New Iseyin- Fapote – Ogbomoso Road; Rehabilitation of Iseyin – Saki Road albeit Federal Government Road; Construction of Saki – Ogbooro – Igboho Road.
The stakeholders equally commended the current administration for the upgrade of OSADEP office in Saki Town to full functionality as well as the inclusion of construction of Ogbooro, Agbonle Road captured in the 2025 Budget, whilst acknowledging the projects as a positive development towards the development of the zone.

The inclusion of Igboho – Kishi Road on the Budget estimate of the Year 2025; the recruitment of qualified sons and daughters of Oke – Ogun into Civil/Public Service; TESCOM, Hospital Management Board, OYRTMA, SUBEB, and other agencies were also applauded by the stakeholders as a step towards Economics Empowerment and regional representation.
Earlier in his remarks, the Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, who highlighted Governor Makinde’s achievements in infrastructure development, security, employment, among others, commended the Governor’s efforts in enhancing the zone’s security architecture.
He noted that His Excellency, Governor Makinde ensured the rescue of three Amotekun personnel captured by bandits, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and properties.

He added that the Governor has employed more people than anyone in Oyo State’s history, creating jobs through various agencies.
Disclosing that he inspected the ongoing Saki-Ogbooro-Igboho road on his way to the program, Barr. Lawal assured that the project would be completed as soon as possible.
The event concluded with a cash donation to the ten local governments by the Deputy Governor, demonstrating the party’s commitment to grassroots development.

Those present were former deputy governor of Oyo state, Alhaji Hamid Gbadamosi; Chief Jacob Adetoro; Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha; senator Gbenga Babalola, Barr. Adeniyi Farinto, Commissioners, other government functionaries, and host of others.
