Wabkem/Olaide Drills 6000L Solar Hybrid Boreholes for Atiba Communities

The Executive Chairman and Vice Chairman of Atiba Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, and Badmus Olaide, have successfully executed a humanitarian project, drilling 6,000 solar hybrid boreholes for Ilaka Ward 3 and Oke Ebo Ward 7 communities.

The project was commissioned on Monday by Oyo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barr. Temilolu Ashamu Nurudeen. 

Residents celebrated with excitement and happiness, grateful for the new water source.

While speaking, the council boss, Wabkem said the project is to complement the effort of the state governor by making the people feel the impact of government no matter where they are residing.

He noted that the communities go through a lot of hassles to get drinking water, especially during the dry season.

Wabkem emphasized the importance of providing clean water, stating, “Water is the most important natural resource of life.

He said: “As a local government, it is expected that we make the people feel the impact of government, no matter how little it could be.

“We appreciate His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, for his support, and pledge to deliver more dividends of democracy.”

During the commissioning, Barr. Ashamu however encouraged the communities to continue supporting the current administration for more dividends of democracy. 

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman, Hon Olaide Ismail Badmus, Hon Kayode Ademola (Leader of the House; Hon Yemi Oyelami (Sec to the LG); Hon Alh Saheed Babalola (Chief of Staff); Asst Secretary…Hon Waliu Azeez; Hon Alh Muheeden Tijani Super for Works & Other Supers.

Also in attendance were All Hon SA’s; HLGA Mr Peter Oladeji; Director of Finance; Alhaja Fatimoh Olayiwola DAGS; Mr Abodunrin Demola; Information Officer, Mr Ogunwale; Hon Akin Alawode; State Excos, Alh Olarenwaju Maruf; Atiba LG Excos led by Hon Kabir Ashamu; Ward Chairmen, Mr Owotabua, Party Members from Ward 1-10, and host of others.
