SMATO congratulates Oba Ghandi on appeal court victory

Lawmaker representing Ogooluwa/Surulere in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola, popularly known as Smato, has congratulated the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Adeoye, on his victory at the Court of appeal.

Recall that on Tuesday, the Court of Appeal in Ibadan overturned an earlier decision that had declared Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye’s ascension to be invalid, upholding his selection and installation as the Soun of Ogbomoso.

The decision reaffirms Oba Olaoye’s position as the 28th Soun of Ogbomoso, a title he has held since his coronation on December 21, 2023.

Hon. Smato described the ruling as a cornerstone, not only in legal terms but also as a catalyst for the flowering of democracy and the realisation of Oba Ghandi’s ambitious vision for Ogbomoso zone in his congratulatory message, which was signed by his media bureau, after the victory.

He prayed that the Supreme Lord God Almighty would continue to grant the royal father wisdom and direction as he governed the ancient town.

The lawmaker equally wished him a long reign on his father’s throne.

He said: “With great pleasure and deep respect, I offer you my sincere congratulations on your historic victory in the Appeal Court, a ruling that not only confirms your legitimate claim to be the Soun of Ogbomoso but also ushers in a new era in our ancient town.

“This victory is not just a formal confirmation; it is a testament to the legitimate heir and a resounding endorsement of your inspiring leadership.

“May the Supreme Lord Almighty continue to bless you with wisdom and guide you as you steer the affairs of our beloved town. We also pray for divine protection over you and your family.”
