PHOTOS: Makinde launches Southwest CNG buses 

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Friday, launched Southwest CNG buses, facilitated by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Oyo State Council, in collaboration with the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the union. 

During the unveiling of 10 buses at the NLC’s secretariat, Agodi GRA, Governor Makinde, who was represented by his Deputy, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, stated that the CNG buses would improve transportation in the state.

He added that the launch of the CNG buses in Oyo State iis a significant step in the right direction for the state’s workers and residents. 

While appreciating the Oyo NLC for collaborating with Governor Seyi Makinde for the smooth running of the state, Barr. Lawal disclosed that Oyo state government had equally provided buses to ease the movement of workers and residents especially during this economic hardship through SAfER. 

He, however, assured that the current administration under the leadership of Governor Makinde would continue to deliver on good governance and prioritizing workers welfare.

Earlier his remarks, the chairman, Oyo NLC, Comrade Kayode Martins, disclosed that the NLC is poised to make a positive impact on the lives of workers and residents in Oyo State.

He said: “The federal government’s donation of CNG buses to the NLC is a significant gesture, with a total of 64 buses donated to the union and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).”

The 10 buses would be be distributed across the Southwest states.

The event was attended by NLC president, Comrade Joe Ajaero; including other labour leaders, political officeholders, government functionaries and residents of the state.
