Hon. Smato’s Transformational Leadership in Ogo-Oluwa LG Sets a New Standard, Far Beyond His Predecessor’s 12-Year Tenure

Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola Smato, the Member representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, has once again demonstrated his commitment to equitable and impactful leadership, a sharp departure from the 12 years of stagnation under his predecessor.

His actions have shown a clear focus on development, fairness, and the welfare of his constituents.

A statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday indicated that the lawmaker, in a bid to support security in his federal constituency, donated ₦1 million towards the construction of the ongoing police station in Odo-Oba.

This move, according to the statement, is aimed to strengthen safety and security in the community, which is a significant step in addressing long-standing security challenges.

The statement equally highlighted other projects done by the lawmaker since assuming office including the installation of several transformers in the Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency.

It stated further: “Hon. Smato has facilitated the employment of over 25 individuals into the Nigerian Army and Police Force. This remarkable achievement not only provides stable careers for the youth but also contributes to the reduction of unemployment in Ogo-Oluwa.

“Hon. Smato’s commitment to improving access to clean water is evident in the drilling of boreholes across several communities, including Otamokun, Ayegun Yemetu, Ile Abu Oloye, Ajaawa, Ijana Ayegun, Ladanu, and Lagbedu. He has also repaired over 30 non-functional boreholes, ensuring that many communities regain access to potable water, a basic necessity that had long been neglected.

“The Honorable lawmaker has also prioritized empowerment programs, ensuring the inclusion of his constituents in all four phases of his empowerment initiatives. These programs provide critical resources and opportunities to uplift individuals and families across his constituency.

“In addition to his impactful grassroots initiatives, Hon. Smato has shown a keen interest in agricultural development. He has proposed an amendment to the Nigerian Research Institutes Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, to establish the Nigerian Institute of Cashew Research in Eesade, Ogbomoso, Oyo State. This forward-thinking initiative is poised to stimulate agricultural productivity and economic growth in the region.”

Confirming the development to newsmen, Dr. Olatunde Ezekiel, a resident of Odo-Oba Ward 8, however commended Hon. Smato for his actions, stating that his leadership reflects a deep sense of equality and fairness.

He further noted that Hon. Smato’s administration has ensured that no community in Ogo-Oluwa is left behind in the wave of progress.

Hon. Smato’s achievements have shown that with visionary leadership, impactful governance is achievable.

His efforts continue to inspire confidence, trust, and hope for a brighter future in Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency.
