Hon. SMATO urges students in his constituency to utilize student loan opportunity

The federal lawmaker representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola (Smato), has called on the good people of the constituency, especially parents and students, to take full advantage of the federal government’s ongoing student loan program.

Hon. Smato expressed concern over the relatively low participation in the initiative, which is designed to alleviate the financial burden of higher education and empower students to build a brighter future. He noted that communities in other parts of the country, particularly in the North, are benefiting significantly due to awareness created by their leaders.

“This is federal government money that has been set aside to ease the financial burden on our students,” Hon. Smato said. “No one will demand repayment unless the beneficiary becomes gainfully employed in the formal sector. It is our right to access this fund, and we must not be left out.”

To ensure a smooth and transparent application process, Hon. Smato outlined the necessary steps:

The process, he emphasized, does not require any intermediaries or payments to anyone. Once approved, the federal government will pay the school fees directly to the respective institutions.

Hon. Smato urged parents, community leaders, and stakeholders in Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency to actively encourage eligible students to apply for the loan, ensuring that no one is left behind.

“This is a golden opportunity to make higher education accessible for our children,” Hon. Smato remarked. “Let us seize it and spread the word across every community within the constituency.”

He reiterated his commitment to advocating for programs and policies that promote the welfare and progress of his constituents, especially the youth, who are the future of the constituency.
