2025: Yeye Adenike Olarinde distributes palliatives to over 300 residents in Kishi (Photos)

*…Eulogizes Oyo Deputy Gov, Wife’s humanitarian gesture*

It was a happy yuletide celebration for the people of Irepo Local Government as the Supervisory Councillor for Women Affairs and Special Duties in Irepo Local Government, Hon. (Mrs.) Yeye Adenike Aderibigbe Fauziyat Remi-Olarinde, distributed palliatives, including packs of rice and other staple foods to women, widows, and the elderly, on Tuesday.

The donation was part of measures of giving back to her community for the love and solidarity she had enjoyed from them even before securing appointment as Supervisory Councillor for Women.

Olarinde, who is also the CEO of T-Gold Unisex Salon and Boutique in Ibadan, made the distribution at her resident in Kishi, to put smiles on the faces of Kishians to commemorate new year.

For the benefit of the Kishi community, she said, the efforts are meant to complement the humanitarian gesture and support of Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, and his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Ajibola Lawal.

Olarinde lauded Barr. Lawal and his wife’s various pet programs in easing the suffering of Kishiians and ensuring that rapid development is brought to the community under the Makinde-led administration.

She said: “Last year, 200 people across the 10 Wards in Irepo LG received palliatives, but this year, I am distributing the palliatives to over 300 people across the 10 Wards as part of my little ways to contribute my own share to the development of our town, Kishi.

“I must sincerely appreciate the council chairman, Hon. Olayiwola TT, PDP leaders and entire members for their support and gracing the occasion. It is my prayer that I’ll be able to do more for my town in alleviating the current hardship in the country.”

Rasaki Abibat, one of the beneficiaries, lauded Mrs Olarinde for her generosity and consistently ensuring that her people benefits from the dividends of democracy.

She called on leaders to always put the wellbeing of their people first, regardless of the country situation, and mentioned that this is not the first time Yeye Adenike has helped Kisiians with gifts, cash and staple foods, even before she was elected Supervisory Councillor.

“I urge everyone who is in a position to help to do the needful, knowing that you have people looking up to you for survival, because when you feel that the pocket is for you alone, the people will be crying,” said Adesope Dorcas, another beneficiary who corroborated the development.

“However, if you take into account the masses, as our Supervisory Councillor for Women is doing, everyone will be happy and Nigeria will be a good country.”

Olarinde’s reputation as a leader who genuinely cares about her people has been cemented by the annual palliative effort, which has brought great joy to the community.

The event was attended by Irepo Local Government Chairman, Hon. TT Olayiwola who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon Sunday Olanipekun Oyewole, Deputy Gov’s aides, SA Domestic, Sola Badmus, SA Project, Ainde Ogede and SA Political, Yusuf Ajagbe; Alhaji J.S Amodu, ably represented by his wife, Alhaja Muibat Amodu; all Councillors, Supers and SAs.

Others were Ex Vice Chairman, Hon Olawoyin Kunle Kasimu, Alh Ibrahim Tijani Omupo, Irepo PDP Chairman, Hon Hassan Ismail Odejide Baade, all Ward Chairmen, Women Leader, Alhaja Yushau Sariyu, all women leaders and Irepo PDP leaders.
