SMATO bags prestigious ‘Icon of Democracy’ award from IPAC
Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola (SMATO), member, representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency at the 10th National House of Assembly, has been presented with the prestigious “Icon of Democracy Award” by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Oyo State Chapter.
As part of the council’s event with the topic “Commemorating 25 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria,” the award was given out during a ceremony on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
Hon. SMATO’s outstanding efforts to the advancement and self-determination of his constituency are honoured by this esteemed award.
By highlighting his “outstanding innovative contribution to the development and empowerment of citizens in Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency,” the prize plaque cemented his image as a leader who places a high priority on advancement, inclusivity, and democratic principles.
Hon. SMATO thanked IPAC from the bottom of his heart in his acceptance speech and dedicated the award to the people of Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, whom he called the foundation of his success.
He restated his dedication to advancing effective leadership, significant representation, and Oyo State’s general progress. Other famous people were also honoured during the ceremony, such as Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power, and Mogaji Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, SAN, Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC).
