PHOTOS: Germany-based Nigerian, Balogun Olugbemiga doles out cash, POS machines, food stuffs to over 400 visually impaired individuals in Ibadan

A Non-Governmental Organization, Balogun Olugbemiga Foundation, on Saturday, supported over 400 visually impaired individuals with cash gifts, PoS Machines and food stuffs. 

The foundation’s convener, Balogun Olugbemiga, who is based in Germany and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ibadan Southeast Local Government, stated during the presentation at Faith Joe Event Centre, Alegongo Akobo, Ibadan, that the gesture was a part of the organization’s effort to help the needy.

Olugbemiga, who noted that there is ability in disability, insisted that the annual distributions, which supports individuals with disabilities, including blind people, is aimed to sustain their source of livelihood. 

He said: “As one of the visually impaired individuals, I will continue to support my people particularly with the current situation of this country. They need help and support.”

Olugbemiga however advised government at all levels to redouble their efforts on programmes that would improve the wellbeing of people living with disabilities in Nigeria.

Noting that the NGO has no political affiliation, the PDP chieftain assured to continue supporting physically challenged individuals regardless of political affiliations.

Some of the beneficiaries who thanked the Foundation for the financial support and distribution of food stuffs, prayed God Almighty to continue to uplift the Convener to greater heights.

They noted that the gesture would go a long way to assist them especially in this festive period and economic hardship.
