Osun 2026: After a Fact-Check, MOUTHPIECE NGR retracts story on Oyebamiji

Following a fact-check, MOUTHPIECE NGR has finally withdrawn its publication on Oyebamiji regarding the alleged stance of a group loyal to Alh. Bola Oyebamiji, the former Commissioner of Finance and current Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Water Authority. 

Oyebamiji was alleged to have said the ticket of the party is supposed to be ceded to a party member from Osun West, if the party is serious about regaining political strength in osun

Earlier today, our medium erroneously quoted a statement credited to one Chief Lanre Adedokun, claiming to be a member of Oyebamiji Support Group. 

In the publication, the group dared Former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and a Former Osun West Senator, Ajibola Basiru over the 2026 Governorship Ticket of Osun All Progressives Congress.

It added that if the party is not willing to consider Osun west,  then the party should conduct a primary, adding that they are sure Oyebamiji will come out victorious either former Governor Oyetola or Senator Ajibola Basiru is contesting or not.

But after a fact-check, it was discovered that the acclaimed Chief Lanre Adedokun is not a member of the Oyebamiji Support Group and had deceived our editors into publishing a fraudulent report on MOUTHPIECE NGR. 

While the medium acknowledged that the publication was made in error, the organization sincerely offer its apologies.
