Aso Oke unique and peculiar to Iseyin— Oyo Deputy Gov
Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has described the production of Aso Oke as unique and peculiar to Iseyin town.
The Deputy Governor stated this on Thursday while addressing residents and indigenes of Iseyin local Local Government area at the Aso Oke Day ceremony.
He called for a concerted efforts to place the festival on a global scale.
The Deputy Governor who stood in for the Governor of the state Engr.Seyi Makinde promised State government’s assistance to promote the fabric and its production at the highest level.
The government urged Iseyin Aso Oke Weavers Association to bring up a design to construct a befitting complex on the 13.5hectres of land allocated to the association by the state government.
The Deputy Governor,gave the body three months to achieve this goal.
He congratulated all sons and daughters of Iseyin on this year’s occasion of Aso Ofi festival.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards to deserving personalities among whom is the Deputy Governor,Barr.Bayo Lawal.
