Woman Blames ‘Posting Achievements Online’ For Accident That Left Her Paralyzed

A South African woman recently shared her heartbreaking story of being paralyzed from the neck down after a car accident, which happened shortly after she posted about her achievements online.

Known as @Kalogo_Mojalefa on X, she explained that in 2023 she had proudly shared her award for top performance in her department. However, on her way home after her final exams, she was involved in a severe car accident, leaving her unable to move from the neck down.

Reflecting on the experience, she now regrets posting her success, linking it to the tragedy.

The accident cut short her studies and prevented her from graduating, as she can no longer type or write to finish her research. Her journey included six months in the hospital, three of which were in the ICU, and four high-risk surgeries. At one point, her family was even called in to say goodbye as doctors feared for her life.

In a twist, she recently survived a second accident, humorously noting that only her side of the car was hit. Despite her struggles, she expressed gratitude for surviving both incidents, leaning on her faith to stay resilient.

“Snininini I didn’t wake up from one of my surgeries for one and a half hours. I had everyone stressed out. And the weird thing is I received a call from someone I can’t remember offering to pray for me before the surgery. The prayer was so weird that I ended up opening my eyes 👀.

“I forgot to mention that I got involved in another one 2 months ago 😂😂 ay shame. We were 5 in the car and only my side got hit 😂😂
