Oke Legacy extols Makinde for raising minimum wage to 80,000

In a move for civil servants across Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde has once again demonstrated his administration’s commitment to employee welfare, a sentiment widely echoed by the state’s workforce, Mouthpiece NGR can report.

Governor Makinde recently announced a new minimum wage of N80,000, surpassing the N75,000 stipulated in the new Minimum Wage Bill.

According to him, he said this adjustment not only provides a financial boost but also signifies the administration’s deep respect for the contributions of civil servants to Oyo State’s growth and development.

“This increase is not just a monetary incentive; it is a clear acknowledgement of the invaluable role that our workers play in driving Oyo State’s progress,” said Hon. John Adisa-Oke, Ph.D., commending the decision.

The statement read in part: “Since the assuming office in 2019, Governor Makinde has maintained a steady track record of paying workers’ salaries on the 25th of each month—an unwavering commitment that has earned him high praise among civil servants.

“Governor Makinde’s progressive policies continue to set Oyo State apart as a model of good governance, with his dedication to workforce welfare serving as an example for other states across Nigeria.
