PHOTOS: After describing him as T-pain, Atiku meets Tinubu in Abuja with smile on his face
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar shared a rare moment of camaraderie on Friday as they attended Jummah prayers at the National Mosque in Abuja.
Despite their recent political rivalry in the 2023 presidential election, both leaders were seen exchanging warm pleasantries and joining a congregation of worshippers.
Among other notable attendees were Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, former Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, and Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume.
The gathering highlighted a routine religious observance, with the leaders putting aside political differences to share in Friday prayers.
Recalled that Atiku had earlier this month criticised President Bola Tinubu’s handling of the fuel subsidy crisis, referring to him as “TPain” in a tweet on Thursday.
Atiku attributed the current economic challenges facing Nigeria to what he described as the “haphazard and disingenuous approach” of the Tinubu administration to fuel subsidy management.
Following the development, netizens have taken to social media to express a mixed reactions over the smile on the face of Atiku.
A commentator wrote: “It’s just their senseless supporters fighting tooth and nail with themselves.
The political class benefiting from the system ain’t got no issues with themselves.”
