The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, presented the award to Adedoyin on behalf of the teachers at the 2024 World Teachers’ Day celebration in Ogbomoso.
The colorful ceremony held at NUT Model College Sports’ Complex, Owode Housing Estate, Ibadan was part of the activities marking the 2024 World Teachers’ Day celebration by the association.
Dignitaries who graced the award ceremony were the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, top government officials, teachers across thirty-three local governments of the state, Royal fathers and a host of others.
Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas Ramon representing Oyo East/Oyo West, who received the award on behalf of the majority leader, noted that Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin firmly believes in the transformative power of education and the pivotal role that teachers play in shaping the future.
He said: “Adedoyin has consistently advocated for the welfare of teachers and the improvement of education in our state, as demonstrated by his support for the completion of the NUT building in Ogbomoso and his contributions through several motions in the House of Assembly aimed at enhancing educational policies.
“This award serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility we all share in making education a priority. On his behalf, I express profound gratitude to the NUT for this recognition and thank everyone who continues to work tirelessly for the betterment of education in Oyo State.
“To all the teachers gathered here today and everyone who continues to work tirelessly for the betterment of education in Oyo State, I salute your dedication and sacrifices, and I wish you a happy World Teachers’ Day.”
