13 Persons Died In Ghastly Road Crash – FRSC Confirms, Urges Safety Ethics In Ember Season 

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna sector command, has said that 13 persons died in a road crash on Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Friday.

The sector commander, FRSC, Kabir Nadabo confirmed the incident to journalists in Kaduna.

Mr Nadabo said, “The road traffic crash occurred near Olam farm on Kaduna-Abuja highway about 3 p.m. when Toyota Hiace marked GTG 96YA carrying 11 persons collided with a Golf Salon marked RBC 369XE with five passengers.”

He said those who died had been moved to St. Gerards Hospital, while three who survived were immediately conveyed to AP Smart Hospital, Kakuri, for further treatment.

“As we enter the ember season fully, motorists are reminded on the need to adhere to basic safety ethics while travelling,” he said.

He said it was imperative to also remind motorists that excessive speeding was dangerous. He urged drivers to always maintain the requisite speed limits while in transit.

“Corps extends its sincere gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for the continuous support in FRSC activities,“ Mr Nadabo said.
