Oyo Deputy Gov receives Ibarapa zone league of Imams & Alfas, pledges support
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has pledged the continuous support of current administration under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde to be fair to all religious bodies in the state.
Barr. Lawal revealed that his love for the Muslim community led him to host the Ibadan league of Imams and Alfas at his Bashorun home on Saturday following a Maolud Nabiyi celebration at Oja’ba Central Mosque.
He made these disclosure on Monday while receiving the Ibarapa zone league of Imams and Alfas on a courtesy call at the Governor’s office.
According to him, it is our duty as Muslims to constantly stand together, support one another, and work to further the spread of Islam across the state.
Reacting to the League of Imams and Alfas’s financial request and support, the Deputy Governor assured them of the current administration support to meet the needs of various religious bodies in the state as it arises.
The Deputy Governor however called on muslims in the state especially those who are well to do, to continue spending for the course of islam.
While expressing their gratitude, the Ibarapa zone league of imams and Alfas led by Alhaji Fasasi Orimadegun commended the Deputy Governor for his active role and strive towards the course of Islam in the state.
He noted that his good representation of the Muslim community in the state have no doubt advanced the growth of Islam.
They equally lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for transmitting power to the Deputy Governor while on vacation.
The Ulamas however offered special prayer for the Governor and his Deputy, as well as expressed their gratitude saying, Jazakumullahu Khairan!
