Councilors in Irepo Local Government have scored Hon. Tunde Taoheed Olayiwola, the Executive Chairman of Irepo Local Government, high in terms of delivering dividends of democracy to the people in his first 100 days in office.

In a press statement signed by its House leader, Alh (Hon) Saliu Sarafadeen Ayinde, popularly known as SASAY, on Tuesday, the councilors described Hon. TT as a promising and committed chairman who could quickly advance the growth of the local government.

While emphasizing the chairman’s outstanding accomplishments, notably in the areas of infrastructure development, security, and community support, the councillors also pointed out that the chairman’s policies and empowerment programs have aided in the general growth of Irepo Local Government and the welfare of the people.

According to them, most laudable is Hon. TT’s open door administrative policy to Kishians along his giant strides in tackling insecurity, banditry and illegal mining activities in the local government.

They commended the chairman for focusing on the need of law enforcement agencies and vigilantes, including fixing the patrol vehicle of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) Kishi Division, providing motorcycle to the local branch of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to improve operations, improving the mobility and response time of vigilantes in battling crime, safeguarding the Kishi-Igbeti Forest Reserve route, which is a known hotspot for criminal activity, as well as giving police access to other necessary tools to fight crimes.

The councillors added that the 100 days of the Olayiwola led administration had been full of activities that had had a positive impacts on the lives of residents of Kishi community while also commending him for heeding their advice on several occasions.

The statement read: “We have seen the Chairman’s genuine commitment to sustaining the legacies of development and performance of Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as his exceptional drive for excellence and good governance.

“We truly value your unwavering loyalty to the well-being of the citizenry and your dogged dedication to the local government.

“Be assured that our members will keep supporting your administration’s policies and programs, support all actions that will be taken, and stand by you on this amazing feat of moving our dear council forward.

“No doubt, your policies and programs have supported the overall development of Irepo Local Government, as well as the well-being of the people.”

The House leader, who is widely known as Chief Cubana, king of boys, and Afunni monwobe in the community, however, thanked Governor Seyi Makinde and his deputy, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, for their unwavering support of Hon. TT since he took office, emphasising that his administration placed a great premium on the well being of the people.

SASAY assured that the legislative arm will never disappoint the Deputy Governor nor betrayed the trust placed in them in the discharge of their duties but will continue to cooperate with the executive arm of government for the development of Kishi community.

This strong and cooperative relationship between the legislative and executive arms highlighted how important it is to provide the community with real progress.

Reflecting on this momentous occasion, the people of Irepo Local Government are hopeful that the community will continue to flourish and progress under the Chairman’s leadership and in cooperation with the legislative arm.
