Oyo State Government Boosts Healthcare with Solar Energy Installation at Oranmiyan Primary Healthcare Center
The Oyo State Government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, has made significant progress in enhancing healthcare services through the installation of a 10kW solar power project at the Oranmiyan Primary Healthcare Center in Ibadan South East LGA. This initiative, commissioned in 2021 by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing reliable and uninterrupted electricity to healthcare facilities.
According to a Facebook post by the Oyo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barr. Temilolu Nurudeen Seun Ashamu, the Oranmiyan project is one of 23 similar installations implemented by the current administration. This project underscores the state government’s dedication to leveraging sustainable energy solutions to enhance public services and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
“Since its commissioning, the solar installation has benefited over 500 patients annually, including more than 200 from the maternity ward. The provision of consistent electricity has substantially improved healthcare delivery, eliminating the power outages that previously compromised service quality at the center.
The Oyo State Government’s innovative approach to healthcare and energy reflects a broader vision for sustainable development and effective governance, ensuring that essential services are resilient and accessible to all.”
